Frontier Hybrid Orbitals . II . Applications
In this paper, the frontier hybrid orbitals (FBO's) of a series of octahedral ML5 fragments are used to discuss the electronic structure and the chemical bond of these fragments and the molecules built of these ML5 fragments. The bond orbitals which are chosen as the linear combination of the frontier hybrid orbitals . of fragments are calculated and explain the electronic structure and propert...
متن کاملThe Geometrical Representation of Path
The path planning problem for arbitrary devices is rst and foremost a geometrical problem. For the eld of control theory, advanced mathematical techniques have been developed to describe and use geometry. In this paper, we use the notions of the ow of vector elds and geodesics in metric spaces to formalize and unify path planning problems. A path planning algorithm based on ow propagation is br...
متن کاملA hybrid algorithm for the path center problem
Let a graph G = (V;E) be given. In the path center problem we want to find a path P in G such that the maximum weighted distance of P to every vertex in V is minimized. In this paper a genetic algorithm and ahybrid of genetic and ant colony algorithms are presented for the path center problem. Some test problems are examined to compare the algorithms. The results show that for almost all exampl...
متن کاملFractals for hybrid orbitals in protein models
The structure and shape of the polypeptide chain of proteins are determined by the hybridized states of atomic orbitals in the molecular chain. The calculated s ratio in the sp hybrid orbitals is computed from the fractal dimension D of 81 proteins. The tertiary structures of 8 proteins covering 4 structural classes are analyzed. The proteins in the β-structural class are distinguished quantita...
متن کاملA Simple Geometrical Model for Solid Frictiont
We present a simple model for the friction of two solid bodies moving against each other. In a self consistent way we can obtain the dependence of the macro-scopic friction force as a function of the driving velocity, the normal force and the ruggedness of the surfaces in contact. Our results are discussed in the context of friction laws used in earthquake models.
